Post subject: Pajero tailgate lock stuck
Archived from groups: alt>autos>mitsubishi (more info?)

I came to open my tailgate last evening and the lock would not
disengage. Although the key appeared to turn normally, there was no
pressure on the handle to open it. I also tried from the inside, but
although there is a release handle, there is nothing to unlock the
door. I get the same result whether I try the central locking (all
other doors work) or the key in the tailgate istelf.

I mentioned this to a fiend who said he had the same problem
(intermittently) and had even resorted to having the door smashed
open.

Can anyone help please?

Have you tried removing the trim panel from the inside?

I've seen this question from time to time on
